Assessment
Before we begin therapy, we take the time to get to know your child through a comprehensive assessment. This process allows us to understand your child’s communication strengths and areas of need, ensuring that any support provided is tailored and effective. Assessments may involve formal standardised tests, informal observations, parent or teacher interviews, and play-based interactions depending on your child’s age and goals.
At House of Speech, we believe parents and carers are the key ingredient in a child’s progress. You are involved in every step of the process, and your insights are invaluable. Our assessment process includes time for you to share what’s working, what’s challenging, and what matters most—so we can work together on functional goals that truly support your child in everyday life.
We have skilled clinicians who can provide intervention in the following domains

Once we’ve identified your child’s strengths and support needs through assessment, we create a personalised therapy plan tailored to their goals and interests. Therapy sessions are engaging, play-based, and focused on building communication skills in a way that’s meaningful and motivating for your child.
Depending on what suits your child best, therapy may be delivered by a speech pathologist or a trained therapy assistant under the guidance of a speech pathologist, either in person or via telehealth.
At House of Speech, all intervention is grounded in evidence-based practice. We combine current research, our clinical expertise, and your unique knowledge of your child to ensure that therapy is effective, functional, and family-centred. Our goal is to create real-life change in the environments that matter most to your child.
